Day 14 - a Year by the Sea

seawall.jpg
All this white turmoil is the result of a wave hitting up on the sea wall beneath my feet. There is this visceral shudder beneath your feet and a loud thwop of sound. With worse conditions, there is more noise and a sheet of water that shoots up over your head. The water is at least 15 feet below. The amount of energy is astounding. The Pyramids would never have lasted next to the sea. Actually, I wonder about the concrete sea walls that are common around the shoreline here. The Atlantic is a stern and revengeful sea that doesn’t take to being shut out by any mere object. The sounds and sights are terrific though.

Ciao!
