Day 60 - a Year by the Sea
March 1, 2007 by OrientSee.
Today I went out to Deer Island. With all the snow and ice, I waited until I thought the walks would be clear. I wanted to see how things have been after almost two weeks. The parking lot was crowded with cars and people. I didn’t know what was going on until I saw it. This is the JFK, USN CV 67, as it is starting to enter the narrows off Deer Island Point leading into the inner harbor. The JFK is over 40 years old and will soon be decommissioned. It is visiting Boston for the last time. Ordinarily, I am looking for birds or nature shots. This is just so huge that you can’t help but stare in amazement at its size.
Ciao!
