Day 70 - a Year by the Sea

Shallow pools are mirrors and doors at the same time. There are reflections back from around you, the world that you are in. There are things in another place beneath the surface of the water door.  In this case, the ice melt has swept together plant debris long held in the thrall of winter’s ice. There’s a fragile balance at work in such still life. Obviously, there aren’t two worlds here. A simple wet finger will shatter that illusion. There is a appearance of more rather than less. The plant shadows only emphasize that. Yet there really isn’t much to see. Some water, plant debris and submerged grass. Yet there are two worlds here.

Ciao!
