Day 83 - a Year by the Sea
We’ve had some warm days for over two weeks now. There’s very little snow or ice anywhere except in the dirt encrusted snow piles that will last until May. All that dirt and urban crud is very effective insulation. Here in the marsh on the side of ditch running with melt from the higher thickets is a bit of ice lace. In the water there are small fish and drifting across the grass are beetles and flying insects. Life is stirring although there is little green growing plant life yet. Over by the casket company is a veritable forest of onion chive growing. It’s a little shocking to see such bright growth there and nowhere else yet. I’m still patiently waiting for the explosion in bird life but still so far nothing exciting. March is a waiting game.
Ciao!
