Day 97 - a Year by the Sea
April 7, 2007 by OrientSee.
Now that’s a ambitious homeowner. This nest is constructed of an enormous amount of laundry dryer lint. It’s almost three feet high and two wide. It’s located on a tree inside the Suffolk Downs T station on the Blue Line. Apparently it’s not occupied right now but it will be interesting to see who uses it. Otherwise, it’s been an overcast cold day without much going on. The male Red-wings were back making noise but still subdued for their usual effort. The pheasant is trundling around making his chicken noise. I didn’t see him but certainly heard him. I noticed a lot of real good snake habitat where people dumped solid construction waste. So there’s tumbled down broken bricks, stone and tile. Just the place for a snake to enjoy a little session of sun worship. I can hardly wait for the weather to get really warm instead of this phony winter we’re still in.
Ciao!
