Day 129 - a Year by the Sea
May 9, 2007 by OrientSee.
I went to some different places today. I am so used to my neighborhood that going someplace new is exciting. I was guided by my friend Marilyn and we mostly visited cemeteries which are great places to watch wild things as long as the hearse traffic is light. I had a Green Heron land with ten feet of me and I watched a Baltimore Oriole directly over my head. There is this secret cabal of bird watchers in cemetery land and they all know each other and the graves as well. It’s actually great fun and you get to see the best grave stones as well. That’s where this Canada gosling was walking with the rest of his brood and parents. I’ll be back in the marsh tomorrow but this was a great trip. I’ve simply got to get out more often and a little further from home.
Ciao!
