Day 130 - a Year by the Sea

Back home today. For us seaside types, it was a real smelly day (in a very nice way). The lilacs blossomed. It stopped me in my tracks and turned me around till I found the bushes. Terrific scent. At the muskrat pond, I was watching this little guy swimming around and feeding by himself. I thought that was strange and then about five minutes later, three mallards, 2 males and 1 female, splashed down. The female quickly rounded up the little guy while Pa and Uncle Henry paddled off. I may also have located the crow nest. The guards were real loud and persistent with me around. It was another strangely hot day and I’m looking forward to a thunderstorm or two tonight. Cooler weather is coming.
