Day 133 - a Year by the Sea

These little guys are sandpipers and are known affectionately as peeps. They flock together and are a very excitable lot. The slightest thing will set them off. The entire flock lifts off and then wheels around and around. All of this happens at top speed. You can get dizzy following their flight. Then, they all land as if nothing has happened. What was that all about? It reminds me of politics where opinions run wild and rampant at the slightest pretext and then everything settles down while nothing has changed. For these birds, it’s survival. In politics sadly, it’s what people do nowadays to very little effect.
