Day 141 - a Year by the Sea
Between the weather and other things, I haven’t been out much till today. Glorious clear day and bright sights. This is a Magnolia Warbler. He was busy bouncing around the branches looking for food. Everything has been so wet that there has been an explosion in insect life. That unfortunately means mosquitoes. I’ve been wearing repellent for the ticks already but the flying bugs will be here soon enough. That’s good for the wildlife but not so good for us two-legged animals. I’ve been watching edges. The edges between two habitats are the busiest place for everything. Perhaps, it is just easier to see but it does seem livelier. The best light comes when dark clouds border clear sky. The boundary makes for dramatic light and color. I saw such light yesterday as the storm moved off. It started me thinking. Today, I saw that also happens when the marsh borders a tree thicket as well. More to see with great contrasts. Edges.
Ciao!
