Day 157 - a Year by the Sea
He just flew in to take advantage of the handy reusable convenience pack. I had wondered about the large holes in several of these caterpillar nests. This Baltimore Oriole solved the mystery. It’s not the inhabitants’ exiting that makes the holes. It’s birds feeding. This particular bird spent some time eating from the top, sides and bottom of this nest. Anything that stops the caterpillars from denuding the world is a definite plus, especially when it’s a bright black and orange oriole. Of course, any oriole is a day brightening delight for me. Today gets an A+.
Ciao!
