Day 160 - a Year by the Sea

I was out early in the fog this morning. The fog did a great job of muffling all the usual sounds and so it was pleasant to wander around under all the gray mist. This goldfinch was a real exclamation point in the middle of all that gray and green.  I had just been thoroughly reprimanded by a catbird who didn’t like my attitude nor my talking back which really got it riled up. It’s fun to make noises back at mockingbirds and catbirds. They get so outraged. It’s enjoyable to see a two ounce bird get angry at a two hundred pound human. So although the day is still dull and wet, a bright bird and some intense debate got my juices flowing this morning.
