Day 167 - a Year by the Sea
June 16, 2007 by OrientSee.
I had a rough night last night. Around 1:20 am, there was a loud car crash nearby. People were yelling and the firemen and the cops showed up. It’s that terrifying sound of a car crash that gets the adrenaline flowing and so I couldn’t calm down till later after much turning and tossing. So this morning, I found this mega dandelion clock. Clock is a strange word for a plant part (like samara) but clock is what it is called. Anyhow, I saw this and the night’s stress drained right away. The only sounds in the morning were birds. It was very soothing until the planes started coming in and the redwing blackbirds decided that I needed to be scolded by their combined chorus of twenty thousand (honestly, it sounded like that) annoying voices. All in all though, I’d rather listen to the blackbirds than the sound of car crashes.
Ciao!
