Day 170 - a Year by the Sea
The sumac flower. An elegant efflorescence. It reminds of Romanesco broccoli. Today, I started off with an elderberry treat and then the whole walk, I kept finding more berries and fruit. It is amazing to see how productive the marsh and its edge land is. I was able to see a nest of mockingbird chicks sound asleep and quiet which is so unlike the adults who carry on loudly for no apparent purpose (they’ve already mated). Actually the redwings and the catbirds took particular delight today in scolding me everywhere I went. Of course that meant every other living non-plant being knew that there was a human around and immediately hid. So I paid more attention to the plants and they rewarded me with an image like this.
Ciao!
