Day 182 - a Year by the Sea

revere_egret.jpg

Another day of puffy clouds and clear air.  This Great Egret has been hanging around the marsh lately. They are much larger and more stately than the Snowy Egrets. The Great Egret moves slowly with a real sense of majesty while the Snowies are far more energetic and seem driven by too much coffee. This bird is poking around in the Revere portion of the creek and barely 30 yards from a busy street. Look one way and it’s SUVs and pickups. Look this way and it’s a very large and very beautiful egret. The year so far for me has been about learning to look in a different direction and finding a nest of mockingbirds or a pheasant in full plumage. Looking.

Ciao!
