Day 189 - a Year by the Sea

The kids are hungry and everybody’s at the supermarket shopping. This great egret let me get very close for this shot mostly because he was so busy hunting for fish. The redwing blackbirds were hustling everywhere. I saw one feed a fledgling a delightful wriggling something. Yesterday on a bike ride, we saw a peregrine having his morning chipmunk as we rode past.  All the animals will be on a binge from now until they leave starting in August. Some have a long journey down to Costa Rica while others who stay need to put on their winter fat. Everyone’s busy and the marsh is bursting with goodies.
