Day 214 - a Year by the Sea

Lazy summer days mean lazy pastimes. Kite flying certainly qualifies especially if you’re on an island in the middle of Boston Harbor. We visited Spectacle Island, a former dump, with our granddaughter, Zoe. Beautiful weather and a great boat ride meant we had a nice picnic and got to fly the kite. Short of sleeping on an hammock beneath a tree, there is no better way to spend a hot summer day. The island was thronging with tree and barn swallows and blackberry bushes. We’ve got to go more often and enjoy the islands.
