Day 222 - a Year by the Sea

I had always thought a marsh as flat and uninteresting. Not so at Belle Isle. The Spartina is a big part of the view but there are lots of others. There are textural and color differences and even a touch of flaming red. There are large shiny grass cowlicks and purple-gray sedge shrubs. There are at least hundreds of different greens. It’s a pleasing , gentling sort of perspective. I’ve noticed all kinds of people zoning out  when they stand out on the end of the boardwalk. We, city people, don’t have the luxury of mountains or prairies but this little urban marsh suits us well.

Ciao!
