Day 226 - a Year by the Sea
August 14, 2007 by OrientSee.
The big blue tent was spattered with white blotches. From beneath, the sky was a delight today. A cool breeze and a bright sun made for great walking. I went over to the Jade Pearl (the old naval radio station in Revere). There were five Great Egrets that I spent my time annoying. I would walk along and one or the other would huffily fly off. Another hundred yards and the same thing would happen again. They got real tired of me. I didn’t tire of them. Back in early spring, I talked about the showboats that were coming. This has become my favorite bird. The Great Egrets are so sleek and elegant and they move with a regal gait. Most of all, I am overwhelmed that within walking distance of my house there are these beautiful creatures for me to see.
Ciao!
