Day 247 - a Year by the Sea

enflight.jpg

In the background is the main yard for the Blue Line on the T. That’s why all the wires and fences. In the foreground is a Great Egret in flight. It can look awkward sometimes when flying. They are large birds and do not turn on a dime like a pigeon or soar with the air currents like a sea gull nor do they speed along like a swallow. These birds do sail before the breeze with the elegance of a clipper ship with all canvas aloft. To see a Great Egret in flight like this is to be humbled by our own stumble footed lack of grace.

Ciao!
