Day 251 - a Year by the Sea
It didn’t rain much last night but at least we got relief from the oppressive heat. Even with overcast skies this bouquet of autumn leaves attracted attention. Without the bleaching intensity of full sun these leaves and all the grasses in the marsh showed their color. It’s not the bright fire of the sumac or bittersweet nor the maple oranges and reds. This is a muted palette of color that is subdued and subtle but still eye catching and soothing. Often these colors work far better than a secret mantra in bringing some peace to your mind. Just watch the grass or leaves move and empty out your brain. The result is easier than meditation but brings you to the same place.
Ciao!
