Day 253 - a Year by the Sea

The sparrow is not attacking the squirrel. Actually the squirrel hopped onto the rail and startled a group of sparrows who were roosting in the thorn bush. They exploded out of the leaves and one of them was caught by my lens as he flailed away just above the squirrel. It surprised even the squirrel. The best thing today was the rain. Finally after many weeks we are getting some real rain. It will do wonders to all the vegetation and the world will be a different place tomorrow. The little ponds will fill up and the strange salt sweat smell will disappear as water covers the dry bottoms. The rain won’t change the march to the new season but it will take the edge off the drought.
