Day 258 - a Year by the Sea

cedarsepwaxwing.jpg

This proud and regal cedar waxwing was in a poplar tree at the entrance to the park today along with two others. I was somewhat surprised to see them. Last night the first chill wind of the season blew in from the northwest. It was 48 degrees this morning. I think that most of the animal life got the message because this afternoon the marsh seemed empty. The egret gang is still around along with the lone great blue heron but everywhere else it was empty. Beautiful to look at but empty. Fall is here.

Ciao!
