Day 309 - a Year by the Sea

novrobin.jpg

Today was strange. I got out early to see a Cooper’s Hawk roosting in the thicket by the casket company. Then two other larger hawks flew by too fast to identify in the morning glare. The big thicket was full of starlings and then a flock of about forty or fifty robins. They were making a real racket as they were foraging in the underbrush and the reeds. I actually thought that there was a person messing about at first. Then the strangest sight was two male red-winged blackbirds wrangling with each other. It was like April for a moment. There were even a few warblers winging about. Warm November mornings that feel like Spring. Very, very strange indeed.

Ciao!
