Day 310 - a Year by the Sea
November 6, 2007 by OrientSee.
A quiet landscape along the creek. Yesterday was a calm day before the storm that today brought. Apparently, a serious cold front is following the rain. The thickets have been full of insect life and noise. I’ve seen bees and other flying insects even though it hasn’t been very warm. I wonder how much cold it will take to quiet the bugs. There are still a few warblers around. I’ve never really paid that much attention during the season change. One lesson of this year has been how some change is very gradual and yet other things happen in just a few days (the phragmites seed heads popping out and opening up). Some birds disappear almost overnight and others are just always around. I have always known these things but this year I have been very conscious of time and the marsh. It has been a very different stretch of time.
Ciao!
