Day 318 - a Year by the Sea
November 14, 2007 by OrientSee.
This amazing creature is a very young American Goldfinch. The black-and-white back and tail are a visual delight. If only Cary Grant had a tuxedo like this, he would have been the pinnacle of male fashion history. The surprise is that at this time of year, I have no expectation of seeing this kind of bright display. The maples go wild with their color palette but the rest of the marsh is going with dark earth colors. It is the power of the marsh to constantly amaze me with some sight each day that draws me out on my walks. It is a powerful restorative.
Ciao!
