Today’s keywords. Crunchy. Braque.
Crunchy. It was 8 degrees Fahrenheit this morning out in the marsh. Everything was frozen and so everywhere I walked something crunched, ice, frozen grass, frozen ground, etc. The best part of this symphony of crunch was that there was plenty of accompaniment. I saw sparrows, a Robin, a female Cardinal, a Mockingbird, a RedTail Hawk, a Cooper’s Hawk, crows, gulls, ducks et al. Most of the birds were chattering away and so in spite of the temperature, there was plenty of life to see and hear in the marsh today.
Braque. I’m not an art historian but I saw the snow dusted surface of this puddle and the name George Braque, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Braque, came to mind. Braque was a cubist painter who broke images down into geometric shapes and then reassembled the shapes so that multiple viewpoints can be seen at one time. It’s the kind of modern art that many people don’t understand and dislike. (I don’t disagree with that opinion either.) In any case, this frozen puddle could have been a painting by Braque.
Ciao!
