January 15
January 15, 2008 by OrientSee.
I spent yesterday trudging behind a snow blower and then pushing a shovel. Today I walked down an aisle in a sumac cathedral of snow and branches. Go out early into the woods on a snowy day before the snow drops off the branches and it is a different place. I’ve been down these paths many times now even in the snow but this was magnificent. It was well worth the effort. The coyotes had been out before me. Their tracks were clear to see. The phragmite reeds were bent over and you could see further into the marsh. The sky was partly cloudy and added a touch of drama to the contrast between snow and branch. A great day to walk out through the thickets and into the marsh.
Ciao!
