Mobiles hang from a thread and dangle in the breeze. Movement and balance create change. I’ve never been fond of mobiles until in Washington at the National Gallery of Art, I saw a large exhibit of Alexander Calder. Some of those pieces demanded your attention and rewarded you with a sense of change and time. Along the thicket today, I found this branch with these globs of ice. The branch wasn’t free to rotate but the same delicacy of balance and movement was there. I’m not sure where Calder found his inspiration but it must have come from a similar place and vision.
Ciao!
